Hi World? It's me, Catherine

My mom called me last night, not very pleased that I was "spotted" at the BCE place, and I hadn't told her I was going to be there. 

But really, why would I tell her?  I had no idea anyone would see me.

A few months back, I, along with 1,000 other Torontonian women in the Arts, had my photo taken by  the French photographer Pierre Maraval.  I knew it was for a Luminato festival installation, I just assumed it would be a mural, and that my face would be a fleck amongst hundreds.  

But oh no, it's no fleck!  Apparently it's 2X4 feet. A flag, flapping in the wind above the South doorway.  

So, for fear of similar calls, I am announcing it here.  World, here I am. At the BCE place, larger than life!

It's really great to read what you've been up to! Congratulations on your many successes!!!

You are definitely leading an exciting life! I've read as far back as this, but I will come back and read more :-)

I especially LOVED the Kenya photos. Wow!

What an interesting story about the first interracial prom in Mississippi. I don't think I would have believed it if you didn't write about it. If I get a chance, I'm going to go to your exhibit this month. I'll try to set a date with Janette. She had a baby too this year (in October)! Thanks for your congratulatory message regarding Julia. I don't remember if I ever responded, but I meant to. Unbelievably, she will be one year old on Saturday.

Anyhow, I'm commenting on THIS post because my friend Lana was one of the make-up artists for it, so it caught my attention.
